Different periods in the conduct of our canaris

I will try to explain briefly the different periods which are seven (7). Let me start by naturally January.

1) The period of rest:

It covers the entire month of January, it allows our residents to enjoy a great
tranquility and it will encourage the formation of fat reserves that will be very useful
during reproduction.
In addition to the seeds , you must provide fruits and vegetables in
season. In addition, 2 distributions during the month, water-soluble vitamins, they will
strengthen our care.

2) Preparation: The reproduction (from 1 February to 15

March)

This period is very important because it determines fully successful breeding.
In addition to the diet of grains, fruits and vegetables, a weekly supplement of boiled
egg and will complement the sprouts.
The distribution of these alternating 2 new elements is strongly recommended by many
farmers. In addition to 2 times per week, we will give vitamins in drinking water.

3) The formation of couples:

This period extends from 15 to 21 March
A mixture of seeds, fruits, vegetables, boiled egg, sprouts, vitamins are food and the
menu of our daily Canaris.

4) The breeding period:

From March 21, it ends around July 15 (if one is careful not to let the birds hatching in
mid-June), which I also recommend.

This period is divided into four phases (4), each of which

require different care.

1. At the incubating the mixture enough grain to feed the birds.
2.The outbreak calls for the addition of boiled egg.
3.During breeding, the plan provided the outbreak is being prosecuted daily
4.Weaning, more or less 35 days in view of the fragility of their beaks of chicks, the

scheme is as follows: A mixture of sprouts, fruits , various vegetables, seeds crushed.

5) The moulting:

The molting adults about to start on July 15 and ends in late September. By contrast, the
young begin their driven to the three (3) months for the 1st day and two (2) months for
those late season.
For the rest, the daily diet that you add 2 to 3 times a week vitamins in the watering.

6) Preparing for Exhibitions:

This moment eagerly awaited Breeders, encroaches on the previous period (early September
to early October).
Food is the same as before.Housing selected topics in cages where Exposition in cages
"Africa" is the essential difference.
This allows for a more careful monitoring of moulting, an addiction to various
disturbances, we must not forget that we must transform our birds.

7) The period of exhibitions and the choice of our

breeding:

This is the last section of our "canary years", which would then resume the same cycle
that we have seen together.
It takes from 5 October to 31 December.
The work of a whole year may be rewarded by obtaining a first prize of a title where
Champion Best of Show.
But it must not be that it prevents us from thinking that the time is ideal in the choice
of our future breeders.
We must at all costs to acquire, at that time those who can make us lacking for the
continuity of our livestock.
I finished on the annual cycle of our Canaris, in the hope that our young farmers will try
to do so in accordance with the timetable of an amateur beginner.

Canary-Birds

Canary is one of the most common of pet birds. Some of the canaries relatives have been kept as pets for many years. Canaries are one of the best singers. They were found on the Canary Islands, before Columbus and his crew found America, and were taken home by the sailors and kept for their singing.

Today there are those that are drab in color that sing beautifully and those of beautiful color that are not so beautiful of song. It is the male that does the singing, while the female canary only makes a few sounds. If you are a late sleeper beware, the canary starts singing at day break. It is to announce his territory and he is calling the female canary. If you would like a canary that has the best song you would be wise to find a breeder. The pet stores often carry mixed breeds but these birds are by no means quiet.

There is great enjoyment to be gotten from the mixed breeds too. They are usually the price that most families can afford, whereas a show bird can cost much more. Canaries should be banded. That is to say they should have a band around their leg telling their age. Most males start singing at the age of 4 months. By the time the bird is a year old he should have his song well developed.
